Privacy Policy
A short, plain-English summary of how Timberline Property Services handles your personal data.
Who we are
This website is operated by Timberline Property Services, a sole trader owned by Patrick Gilligan and based in Manchester, United Kingdom. For any questions about this policy or your data, contact Patrick Gilligan by phone on 07709 532713 or email at admin@timberlinepropertyservices.co.uk.
What we collect
Timberline only collects the information you actively give us when you request a quote or get in touch:
- Name, so we know who we're speaking to.
- Phone number, to reply to your enquiry.
- Postcode, to confirm your property is in the service area.
- Project details (optional), anything you tell us about the work you'd like done.
- Email address, only if you choose to email us.
If you message via WhatsApp, that conversation (including any photos you share) is held in WhatsApp's own systems under their privacy terms.
Why we collect it (lawful basis)
Under the UK GDPR, we process this information on the basis of legitimate interest, to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and carry out work for you if you choose to go ahead. Where you actively send us a message you are also providing consent for us to reply.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted within 12 months.
- Customer records (jobs we've completed): kept for 6 years for tax and contractual purposes (HMRC standard).
- Analytics data: kept for 14 months at most.
Who we share it with
Timberline does not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. The only third parties that touch your data are:
- The form provider (Web3Forms), receives your form submission and forwards it by email. Web3Forms privacy policy.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. Used to understand which pages and services visitors find useful. Anonymised IPs only. Google's privacy policy.
- WhatsApp / Meta, if you choose to message via WhatsApp.
- Trade partners on larger projects, only contact details strictly needed to schedule and complete the work, with your knowledge.
Cookies
Timberline does not set any tracking or advertising cookies of its own.
If you accept the analytics banner, Google Analytics will set a small
number of measurement cookies. You can clear them at any time from your
browser settings, and decline future analytics by clearing the
tl_consent_v1 entry in your browser's local storage and
reloading the page.
Your rights
You have the right under UK GDPR to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Have it corrected if it's wrong
- Have it deleted (where we don't have to keep it for tax/contract reasons)
- Object to its processing
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these, just message Patrick on WhatsApp or email admin@timberlinepropertyservices.co.uk, no formal request needed.
Updates to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date above. The current version is what applies.
